Website Evaluation

1. Who was the intended audience for your website?

The intended audience for my website is people between the age of sixteen to twenty five that like horror and thriller movies.

2. What was the purpose of the website (e.g. entertainment, educational, commercial)?

The purpose of my website was both entertainment and commercial. Its purpose was to promote the up coming feature film called HIDE AND SEEK...

3. Did your site cover its topic/intended purpose? Why or why not?

I think that my site does cover its intended purpose as it successfully promotes the upcoming feature film. It includes many different pages that intrigue movie goers to go see the film.

4. How have the audience and intended purpose influenced the content of your site (e.g. in terms of language, vocabulary, graphics, media, layout of pages and overall structure of the site)?

Since the people who would be looking at my website would be fans of horror and thriller films I have made the content of my site scary and themed like the movie.

5. Are headings and keywords consistent in terms of font type, colour, style and emphasis?

Yes all of my heading and keywords are consistent in font type, color, style and emphasis because it is important that the site feels like one site instead of separate pages.

6. Are links logical and well-planned? How many clicks is one too many?

I think that my links are logical as I have most of them all on one menu page that has everything the viewer needs. I think it is important that there are not to many links on a page or it will ruin the website and make it too crowded.

7. When you “go” somewhere, can you get back again…or are you lost in cyber-space?

In my website it is easy for the user to return to where they were as up the top of every page are links to every page on the site.

8. Is the colour scheme appropriate and aesthetically pleasing?

The colour scheme I have chosen is extremely appropriate and is the typical color scheme for horror movies. It is also easy to read.

9. Have you considered an appropriate name for your film?

Yes, I have considered an appropriate name for my film as it describes the movie very well as well as including how young the victims are by naming it after a children's game.

10. Do the elements of design evident in the site (e.g. balance, space, contrast etc) reflect the purpose or nature of the site? Are there visual clues to the intended purpose of the site? How would different colour schemes/textures/font styles change the message of the site?

The elements of design evident in the site perfectly reflect the purpose and nature of the site. The Black and Red reflect on the blood and death throughout the film. The photos are all edited to look scarier than the originals and even the text is designed with a scary affect.

11. How have the audience and purpose of the website affected decisions made in relation to:

a. Font/graphics ?

b. Page layout ?

c. Structure of the online resource?

The audience and purpose of the website greatly affected the decisions I made about design greatly as I tried to make sure the design matched the theme and design of the film. I also made sure the design was crried the whole way throughout the site.

Returning to School

When I returned to school I was placed in a group with Sarah, Brooke, and Emma. They had decided on a story mainly written by Emma. This is the Stroy she has written:

Five years earlier, the masked man witnessed the girls parents together with his own parents die in a mountain avalanche from his own actions of shooting at the mountain. His psychopathic mind believes that the girls are responsible for causing the avalanche.

The next scene focuses on 2 girls on the oval, Lauren and Beth. They are playing soccer but suddenly stop when they hear a noise in the bushes. They realise that it is only Nancy who joins them in their game of soccer. However, a few seconds later there is another rustling sound that makes all the girls turn around and jump! Standing there is a man all in black with a mask on and holding a gun. They scream and run in all directions.

The girls run fast to the public bathroom and Nancy opens the door to the first cubicle. The man is standing there. She screams, "Get out!” The girls then run to the library, they enter the glassed room and hide under the nearest computer desk. They think they will be safe now and breath a sigh of relief. They look to the side, the man is already there under the desk alongside them and is pointing his gun. Confusion shows on the girl’s faces, Nancy faints. Lauren and Beth run until they hear a gun shot, BANG! They turn to see that Nancy is dead. They want to go back and help her but it is no use. They know they can do nothing and will only get killed. They run on, towards their house, through the gardens and look back to see that no one is following them. Amongst tears and fear they hold hands as they sprint to their house all the time looking back to see if the masked man is following them.

Lauren unlocks the door, as they enter the room they find their dining room trashed. Standing in the middle of all the damage is the gunman holding dead Nancy by the hair. The girls jump in horror. It is a phenomenon that he got there before them. They each fall to the floor as he shoots them one by one. The last shot shows the masked gunman chuckling under his breath then the screen goes black.

Paragraph for Homework

Mis En Scene:

The Different parts of mis en scene are acting, setting, lighting and props. Without Mis en Scene movies would not nearly hav the same effect on people that they do. Johny depps serious nature is Juxtaposed by the humor of the scene. The Other the actors in this scene looked very vulnerable helpless, scared, shocked and innocent. In the next scene you meet a family. They are sweet and loving but they are also so unaware and unprepared for the fate they are about to meet. The horseman would definatly be the most powerful person in the scene. He was a very powerful, magical headless person. He comes out on a black stallion with his sword raised which gives you the idea he is on a rampage. There are many props used in this scene. There is the forest which is a prop and setting, the lantern, the skeleton, the sword and the heads. This movie would not work without the props. The settings in in this part of the film are the tree, forest, house and the village. The lighting is a key factor to making the mood of the film. In the forest the lighting is very dull and foggy and grey. Were as in the house the lighting in the house was more yellow and there was avery high contrast between the light and dark lighting. These things really help the way in which the movie is interpreted and how the viewer feels about the film.

The legend of Sleepy Hollow

Sound:

The sound in this movie is very important to create the mood of this film. The dark and mysterious music in this film grew the suppence and creates an overall mood of what is happening on the screen.

Editing:

There is quite a lot of editing in this movie as there is a lot of changing of shots. Depending on what is happening in the movie the pace of both the editing and music changes to suit what is happening otherwise it would not make sense. There were a few examples of passing time in this scene. For example in one shot you see Johny Depp's character start digging a whole and then the shot changes and there is a massive deep hole.

Cinematography:

The exposure in this scene is very dark and foggy and grey. It gives more depth and mood as to what is happening. The speed constantly changes throughout this scene depending on happening. The camera movement and camera position is very important in this scene as actors and dominant objects are always following the golden rules.

Mes en Scene:

Johny depps serious nature is Juxtaposed by the humor of the scene. The Other the actors in this scene looked very vulnerable helpless, scared, shocked and innocent. Jeep Comercial Ananlysis

What comments can you make about the rhythm of the commercial?

The rhythm in this commercial ties the whole commercial together. The edits and passage and it timed with the fast rhythm of the commercial.

How does the editing manipulate the passage of time?

The editing manipulates the passage of time by speeding up what is happening in the shot and cutting to differnent time frames in the commercial.

Are there any graphic matches and how are they used to enhance the commercial?

There are quite a few graphic matches in this commercial. One example of this is when there is a woman driving the car and it then cuts to all different people. This enhances the commercial but showing that all sorts of people can drive a jeep.
