Paragraph for Homework

Mis En Scene:

The Different parts of mis en scene are acting, setting, lighting and props. Without Mis en Scene movies would not nearly hav the same effect on people that they do. Johny depps serious nature is Juxtaposed by the humor of the scene. The Other the actors in this scene looked very vulnerable helpless, scared, shocked and innocent. In the next scene you meet a family. They are sweet and loving but they are also so unaware and unprepared for the fate they are about to meet. The horseman would definatly be the most powerful person in the scene. He was a very powerful, magical headless person. He comes out on a black stallion with his sword raised which gives you the idea he is on a rampage. There are many props used in this scene. There is the forest which is a prop and setting, the lantern, the skeleton, the sword and the heads. This movie would not work without the props. The settings in in this part of the film are the tree, forest, house and the village. The lighting is a key factor to making the mood of the film. In the forest the lighting is very dull and foggy and grey. Were as in the house the lighting in the house was more yellow and there was avery high contrast between the light and dark lighting. These things really help the way in which the movie is interpreted and how the viewer feels about the film.

How does the editing manipulate the passage of time?

The editing manipulates the passage of time by speeding up what is happening in the shot and cutting to differnent time frames in the commercial.

Are there any graphic matches and how are they used to enhance the commercial?

There are quite a few graphic matches in this commercial. One example of this is when there is a woman driving the car and it then cuts to all different people. This enhances the commercial but showing that all sorts of people can drive a jeep.
